A-1 Propane is community-oriented business that goes above and beyond to assist their customers. As the Assistant Director at Veterans Base Camp, I can personally attest to A-1's exemplary commitment to the  residents of the state. VBC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization located in Chaplin dedicated to assisting veterans in need. During the December 2023 snow and ice storm, not only did we lose electricity but we ran out of propane for our emergency generator. Several veterans who live here depend on CPAP machines to assist in their breathing at night. Without power, this could be potentially a life or death situation.  We reached out to the CT Department of Energy and and Protection for help and they recommended A-1. Not only did A-1 immediately respond with a delivery  of propane but they stayed and assisted us bleed the lines and restart the generator. We recently installed a whole house generator. A relative referred us to A-1 Propane for propane tank installation. Lance Roberts came out to evaluate our situation and said he would contact the town to handle the permits. He helped us select where the tanks could be placed. He was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Dave and Vinyl installed the tanks and plumbing lines and were very efficient and careful in making our setup look aesthetically pleasing as well as secure and well anchored. Pleasant, courteous & accommodating: we needed new tanks & A1 made more effort than any other company around to assist us quickly & without excess charges; they were upfront about their efforts to try & deliver next business day, when they couldn’t make it they called to let us know early afternoon & were at the house first thing the next morning. Great company! I've been shopping with A1 for years. As somebody who owns my own propane tanks I usually call around for the best price. A1 is always right there. I recently switched over to automatic delivery it's worry-free. They put a remote control on your tank for no additional charge. It allows them to monitor your level from their office and they know when to come out and deliver.
